The Importance of Cybersecurity for Protecting Operation Technology

Biography:
Alyssa Felan has founded the local San Antonio chapter for the Women's Society of Cyberjutsu (WSC). She had implemented a curriculum for Operational Technology (OT) Security to assist industrial leaders with securing OT environments and implementing best practices. In addition, Alyssa has contributed and continuously supports the Xander Research Project at the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA). The project pairs non-profit organizations with undergrad cybersecurity students at UTSA where Alyssa serves as a mentor and guides the students through conducting a Risk Assessment for the non-profit organization.
Alyssa has a B.S. in Information Systems from the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), a M.S. in Information Systems and Assurance from Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at UIW working towards her doctorate in Organizational Leadership. She is currently researching the cognitive behaviors behind the gender gaps in cybersecurity. Alyssa plans to continue her research after she graduates to help pave the way for women to achieve and succeed as a cybersecurity professional. She brings a significant amount if research, strategy, training, and mentorship to the Women's Society of Cyberjutsu and the Alamo City.
The membership chairperson will submit one or more CPEs for this event for (ISC)²® members. Please bring your (ISC)²® membership number to the meeting. Attendees will also receive an attendance receipt via email from the Chapter's Board members to support his or her continuing education requirements.
